Most men believe the “abs” are one muscle.
But anatomically, the core has four important layers, and unless ALL FOUR activate, your belly will NOT shrink.
1. Upper Abs (Rectus Abdominis – Upper)
Activated easily by crunches.
2. Lower Abs (Rectus Abdominis – Lower)
Hardest to activate. Almost never targeted properly.
3. Obliques (Side Abs)
Shape the waist and support the spine.
4. Deep Core (Transverse Abdominis)
The MOST IMPORTANT muscle for:
- Flat stomach
- Waist tightening
- Pulling the belly inward
- Stabilizing your spine
- Burning abdominal fat

Most exercises do NOT activate it.
